Who I work with

I work with both young people and adults. No client is ever the same, but there are certainly some things they have in common; a desire to change something for the better, and the courage to go for it.

Adults

Life has its highs and lows; my job is to sit down, strap in, and ride that rollercoaster alongside you. We’re in this together.

Clients come to me to work through a wide variety of themes; relationship and family issues, grief and bereavement, work stresses, frustration at repeated patterns of thought or behaviour, unwanted repeated experiences, confusion surrounding their sense of self, or a lurking sense of ‘something isn’t quite right but I just can’t put my finger on it’.

Whether we like it or not, we are emotional beings. Yet experiencing those feelings (especially the ones we don’t want to feel) can range from a mild inconvenience at best, to all out existential threat at worst.

When we first meet, my clients might be experiencing confusion, sadness, anxiety, uncertainty, helplessness, despair, anger, injustice, numbness, grief, vulnerability… the list goes on.

But through our work together, they rediscover joy, laughter, success, calm, creativity, agency, inspiration, motivation, security, hope and companionship.

If you feel like it might be time to take that first step toward something different, reach out.

11-18s

“Adolescents are not monsters. They are just people trying to learn how to make it among the adults in the world, who are probably not so sure themselves.”Virginia Satir

This is an unprecedented time for teenagers and young people. With growing access to social media and digital devices, and the intense peer group pressure this brings, the ever increasing performance demands from school, and their futures uncertain, it’s no wonder we’re seeing young people struggling so much…

…and that’s before we consider the pressures parents are also under.

More than ever before, young people need protected time and safe spaces to figure themselves out. And that is precisely what I provide. My 11-18 year old clients today most often arrive angry, anxious or lost. They’re struggling, and together, we move forward.
